Further to this surprise success I was not interested
in further education and promptly went out to work. For 25 years
I toiled as a cartographer and quite frankly hated it, especially
with the advent of computers. The 'chip' and I do not agree.
Naturally I dabbled on and off with the brushes
and often encouraged by one and all to take it
on board
as a livelihood. The old bent penny still would not drop. Finally
having enjoyed the outdoor experience of landscape gardening for
a few years I did the travel bit. It was a breath of fresh air getting
away from the daily grind of routine but it shifted that bloody
penny at last and on my return I decided to give the
painting lark a good bash. I am not disappointed.
I hope you enjoy the colour and nature of my
work
as much as I did in making them.
